Shahane is a vocalist with lots of perspective and a strong sense of adventure. She composes ten selections with influences from various spots around the world. The variety of styles is wide as Manisha pays respects to her Indian heritage and also country music. She is able to shine on both fronts as she soars on “Still” with beautiful vocal tones over soft calypso beats. We also enjoyed the relaxed jazzy groove of “Into The Valley” given an exotic twist with Brahim Fribgane (oud). Perhaps the best tune is “Girls Gone World” with western pop vocals on Indian rhythms and excerpts in German, Japanese and French.
